Mythrax the Unraveler
Switches between two phases at 66% and 33% health. Main mechanic of the fight is Annihilation debuff which stacks, and each stack reduces max health by 1%. For each x stacks a white ball (Essence Fragment) will spawn nearby and going over it will reduce x stacks. Note that anybody can pick these up, and it works as a kind of soft enrage. At 20% boss health Essence Fragments will no longer spawn at all, use BL/TW and potions at this point, because tanks will die eventually when balls no longer spawn.
Phase 1
Tank gets slapped with Essence Shear front cone attack. This will prevent generating any Essence Fragments, and after swap the tank needs to run around picking fragments other people in the raid left behind.
Oblivion Sphere charms all players nearby, for this reason raid needs to be well spreda out so that as few people as possible get hit by these. While charmed you get damage and Annihilation stacks (and Essence Fragments). Doing damage to the characters or using knockbacks/grips will get them off the charms. Also when players are freed from the spheres they’ll do aoe burst on whole raid so make sure not do free all three at the same time when raid is at low health.
Imminent Ruin is a dot on 2 targets for 12 seconds applying increasing slow debuff. When the debuff expires everyone gets shadow damage based on proximity, and Annihilation stacks within 12 yards. Two debuffed people must run to opposite ends of the room, kinda like soulbursts on Argus.
Obliteration Blast is targeted towards random player, and everybody hit by it gets shadow damage and Annihilation stacks. Avoiding it is good idea in general, but eating these on purpose might be necessary to get enough Essence Fragments for tanks.
Phase 2 – 60 seconds to kill adds before boss gets active again to avoid problems (like Kin’garoth)
Boss moves to middle of the room and gets 99% damage reduction shield that knocks people back, just like Aggramar during add phases, then spawns two Oblivion Spheres from first phase. Also everybody in raid gets 10 stacks of oblivion and soem damage. Spread out before phase change because Oblivion Spheres happen at the same time, but after orbs are handled it’s safe to stack back up for aoe healing.
Obliteration Beam is new ability that works and looks like the beam Gul’dan spams in first phase. Big green thing where people need to move out from. As expected, it will stack Annihilation really fast on anybody who gets hit by it. This beam might be targeted towards player closest to boss so it might be possible to bait it.
Visions of Madness adds that are shadowy copies of players spawn on a number of players (2-5 depending on raid size) that spam Mind Flay. It does pretty high damage and can be interrupted. Stunning and nuking these down asap is a priority.
Two big N’raqi Destroyer adds spawn on both sides of the boss. These need to be tanked at least 40 yards apart from each other and they cast interruptible Void Volley that does damage to everybody in raid. They also do Essence Shear on tanks so they must be tanked towards walls.

Mythic changes
- Phase 1 has add (boss throws his weapon) focusing on random player, need to be DPS’ed down to 50% for it to go away. While the blade is up whole raid takes stacking aoe damage.
- Phase 2 the thrown weapon casts it’s own Obliteration Beam that also needs to be avoided.

Can you bubble/IB the Annihilation stacks? If so it’s maybe nice to cheese Obliteration Wave that way.

I think it may be possible to bubble/IB your own stacks. But i’m not sure i understand why it’d help you cheese the wave? Would you please like to explain?
It could also not be possible, as in the video, it may be a bug or something but i think dead people keep their stacks when they are ressed. At 1:05 you see the DH tank with 40+ stacks being rezzed and having the same amount of stacks (check raid frame). It would mean to me there is no way to totally reset your stacks without going through fragments.
Bear in mind that if the fight mechanics stay more or less as they are, we will need people to be hit by the wave to spawn enough essence fragments for the tanks, as it’s the most reliable way to spawn a lot of fragments for them to keep their own stacks as low as possible. Of course, without any stack you are 100% safe 🙂
Anyway we’ll need to define what’s the highest amount of stacks you can keep and stay safe, so at some point it’s possible some people should not take the wave.
And finally, the boss may have changed quite a bit right now, even if most of the fight mechanics should be the same, the exact way how they interact with the raid is subject to change.

Well, then just 1 person needs to get it and nobody will get extra stacks. The downside is we won’t get balls either, I guess.

Exactly, and we need balls 🙂
For the tanks as i said, but also for all the other people who would have been hit by the different unavoidable random abilities and would need to loose a few stacks if they want to survive the whole fight.

For those that didn’t know, the fight was recently hotfixed so that the Oblivion Sphere ability no longer targets Melee players, making the fight considerably easier.

As we close in on a Zul kill, bumping this for obvious reasons. Watch the Stankie video before today’s raid please.

Following up on that video for everyone, this was the weakaura he had on the screen for the safety of not being near people, when to bait, etc.
