The Eternal Palace – Blackwater Behemoth Guide

      BLACKWATER BEHEMOTH

      An entirely underwater encounter. Purely single-target fight with a great deal of attention to raid positioning and movement. The healing requirement is moderate and the DPS requirement is lax.

      The fight has 1 repeating phase and 1 repeating intermission. Execute Phase 1 three times with enough damage and Behemoth will drown beneath the waves.

      PHASE 1

      • Darkest Depths: Reduces all incoming healing by 100%. This permanent debuff is removed by Bioluminescence.
        • Bioluminescence: This debuff is gained by killing the Shimmerskin Pufferfish adds by the sides of the boss. Standing in the cloud they spawn will grant you this debuff for 45 seconds, allowing you to be healed as normal.

       

      • Gaze from Below: If you have the Bioluminescence debuff and try to leave the rocky platform of the encounter area, you will be targetted by nearby sharks and instantly killed after 4 seconds.

       

       

      • Bioelectric Feelers: The Behemoth will target the largest clump of players and instantly zap everyone with 5 yards for moderate damage. Stay spread at all times 5 yards apart. 

       

      • Shock Pulse: The boss will channel this ability and slowly push the entire raid back towards the depths. Once the cast is finished, the boss will explode for raid-wide damage reduced the further you are away from the Behemoth. Make sure you get away but stay on the platform to avoid dying to Gaze from Below.

       

      • Piercing Barb: The boss will target a random player with a beam that will need to be soaked by others stepping into it. Alternatively, you can immune this ability and/or avoid with Vanish and Feign Death.

       

       

       

       

      INTERMISSION

      The boss will retreat into his cave at certain percentages and spawn out of another cave in the distance. You must wait for your Bioluminescence debuff to drop and then start swimming towards the boss’ new location as quickly as possible while avoiding the jellyfish.

      Once the boss’ Cavitation cast is interrupted, Phase 1 will begin again.

      • Cavitation: The boss begins a long-cast ability once he spawns on the opposite platform. This will need to be interrupted by the tanks once everyone is in position or you will wipe.

      • Slipstream: The rocky floor will have winds out from it. Stand in these winds to gain a swim speed increase to traverse the gauntlet faster.

       

       

       

       

      • Darkwater Jellyfish: Coming into contact with any of the jellyfish in the depths will grant you Bioluminescence and make you a target for Gaze from Below. Avoid jellyfish at all costs or you will die in this intermission.
