VEXIONA
Add management is key to this fight, using the Void Ascendant’s Annihilation beam as best as possible to eliminate the threat of being overwhelmed, whilst managing encounter space by dropping Encroaching Shadows effectively.
–) Encroaching Shadows: Applies a debuff circle around 2-3 random players. Once it expires, drops a permanent void zone on the player’s location. On Mythic, getting hit by the void zone dropped by this ability will give you stacks of Void Corruption.
–) Void Corruption: Permanent debuff that increases Shadow damage taken throughout the entire fight. Vexiona applies this periodically to the entire raid in Phase 3 (<40%), but you also gain stacks by standing in any bad stuff on Mythic.
PHASE 1
During this phase, your top priority is to deal with adds as quickly as possible and maximize encounter space by dropping Encroaching Shadows effectively. Vexiona is the bottom priority target when adds are up, and constant CCs are necessary to keep these adds from decimating the raid with their various abilities.
Here are the adds listed by priority targets:
–) Iron-Willed Enforcer: Present in Mythic difficulty, this add will periodically cast Brutal Smash around it, dealing massive physical damage and stunning anyone in the circle. In addition, once it begins casting this the Enforcer will Death Grip the furthest 3 players into the center of the Smash. This add is immune to all forms of CC. It is important to react fast and move out of this immediately – spells like Disengage, Fel Rush/Vengeful Retreat, Heroic Leap, Wild Charge or Blink need to be used to nullify the pull and get into a safe position.
–) Sinister Soulcarver: Present in Heroic difficulty and above, this add will teleport to a random player and begin channeling a Bladestorm-like ability around it. This add must be CC’d as soon as it begins channeling to interrupt it.
–) Spellbound Ritualist: Spam casts Void Bolts at random targets. Must be interrupted.#
–) Fanatical Cultist: Will transform into a Void Ascendant upon hitting 100 Energy. Has no special abilities or attacks.
–) Void Ascendant: Must be off-tanked and channels Annihilation at its current target. This beam can be used to decimate packs of adds, but it also hits friendly players. On death, drops a Gift of the Void to grant tanks the Annihilation beam spell to reset their stacks of Void Corruption.
Below is the positioning for the boss (Skull) and the arrows indicate the direction in which to move once the wall is covered in debuffs (Encroaching Shadows).
INTERMISSION
Periodically, Vexiona will take flight and begin bombarding the platform. Just before she flies off, she will transform an existing Fanatical Cultist into a Void Ascendant regardless of its energy level.
It’s important to mop up any adds leftover from Phase 1 and get into avoiding her Twilight Decimator strafing runs by baiting them into predictable locations. Vexiona will always pick the lane with the most players on it to bombard.
We start baiting on Red (Cross) and then moving to direct opposite side of the room to Blue (Square). Gateway is very useful here, and it is important to bait the Decimator to the sides and keep the middle safe to step into on either side.
PHASE 2
This phase begins at 40% and acts a soft enrage to kill boss before the damage becomes unhealable. The entire raid begins gaining passive stacks of Void Corruption, making every boss ability hit harder and harder.
In addition, on Mythic difficulty Vexiona will spawn a Shadow of Vexiona to continue bombarding the platform throughout Phase 3, same as the Intermission’s Twilight Decimator but while the boss is active.
No more adds will spawn, and it becomes vital to position safely for Twilight Decimator strafes and to counteract Terrifying Presence.
–) Terrifying Presence: Whenever you are not within 6 yards of 1 other player, your haste is reduced by 100%. If you are affected by Terrifying Presence when Vexiona casts Heart of Darkness, you will be feared for 15 seconds.
–) Heart of Darkness: Similarly to Heroic, this ability will deal massive raidwide damage reduced by distance. It’s important to run out with partners to avoid becoming feared if you have Encroaching Shadows.
–) Desolation: The active tank becomes a void zone that needs to be soaked by at least 3 players. If 3 players do not help soak this effect, Vexiona enrages and casts it again immediately after. On Mythic, immunity classes will need to rotate in to soak each Desolation to reduce raid damage.
