      STONE LEGION GENERALS

A fight with three phases spiced up with the presence of a permanent bleed debuff that can only be removed with a specific raid ability, and in true Gargoyle fashion they both have a mechanic which revolves around shattering their stoneforms at 50%.

Each phase is characterized by which of the Generals fight us, with the final phase having both present at the same time. Despite different bosses being present, each phase shares similar mechanics that you will need to handle throughout the entire fight.

Regardless if she is active or not, Kaal will mark players with Wicked Blade. This will cause a moderate amount of damage and apply a permanent bleed stack of Wicked Laceration to anyone in range of them. They will need to move out of the raid to avoid it hitting anyone else – in addition they also need to avoid the other marked player to not double-dip on bleed stacks.

      Wicked Blade

The only way to remove the permanent Wicked Laceration bleed is through Grashal’s Stonebreaker Combo, which he casts whether he is active or not. At the start of the combo, he will mark a player with Crystallize. All players with any stacks of Wicked Laceration will need to stand in the Crystallize to remove them, where they will be stunned once it hits them.

      Crystalise

Immediately after this stun, Grashal throws a Pulverizing Meteor to finish the stunned players off, which is when the rest of the raid without bleed stacks comes in to share the damage of this incoming rock.

      Phase 1: General Kaal

Bitter over her defeat at the Sanguine Depths, Kaal has captured Prince Renathal along with her associate, General Grashal. They both seek to dismantle the Fallen Prince’s rebellion and end his new champions before they reach the Master in his own home.

In this phase, players marked with Wicked Blade will need to move out of the raid to avoid it hitting anyone else – in addition they also need to avoid the other marked player. This will cause moderate amounts of damage and apply a stack of Wicked Laceration.

      Wicked Blade

Kaal will afflict random players with Heart Rend. This debuff is a very long, slow ticking DOT. Once dispelled, it will leave a heavier, faster ticking dot on them for a much shorter duration, so healers will need to stagger their dispels to ensure they aren’t overwhelmed by the stronger, undispellable DOT that comes after.

      Intermission (Any Boss 50%)

Whenever one of the bosses reaches 50% health, they will encase themselves in stone, taking 95% less damage. During this stone form, they will call upon adds to join the fight. These adds are key to breaking the boss’ stoneform.

Stone Legion Goliath is the only killable add in this phase which players need to focus down ASAP as at 20% health the add will transform into a Soultaint Effigy, which will beginning stacking a debuff on the entire raid that reduces the healing received by 10% for each stack. Upon death, the Goliath will drop a Massive Anima Orb that needs to be collected and given to Prince Renathal to restore 40% of his mana.

Stone Legion Commandos will join the fight aswell, flying overhead and throwing bombs down on us. These will drop void zones to avoid on the ground whilst Draven takes the skies to kill them off for us. Once they die, they will drop an anima orb on the ground to each restore 10% of Renathal’s mana. Commandos can only be killed by Draven.

      orbs

Once Renathal reaches 100% mana, he will cast Shattering Blast at the stone-formed boss, knocking all players back and breaking the boss’ stony protection and ending the intermission. If Kaal’s stone form is broken, she retreats to the sky and Grashal enters, starting Phase 2. If Grashal’s stone form is broken, Kaal re-enters the fight alongside him and starts Phase 3 instead.

      Phase 2: General Grashal

Draven & Kaal’s mentor has been taken out of his slumber prematurely to end the Prince’s upstart rebellion. He embodies the brute force of the Stone Legion, but his advanced age and rude awakening have rendered him somewhat wooden.

Tanks will have to deal with Grashaal’s Stone Fist ability, a heavy physical attack that knocks the current tank backwards. Make sure to not get knocked off of the platform.

Players marked with Seismic Upheaval will need to spread out quickly and continue moving from the constantly spawning swirlies, while those marked with Reverberating Eruption need to position themselves to leave the Unstable Ground void zones away from the raid.

Each time Reverberating Eruption is cast the previously dropped Unstable Grounds need to be soaked, but can only be soaked 1 at a time as multiple soaks will kill you instantly. Any zones not soaked do massive damage through Echoing Blast to the entire raid.

      Phase 3: Kaal & Grashal

After Grashal’s stoneform has been broken, Kaal lands and begins attacking us once more – except this time, both Generals remain in the fray. During this phase, you will have to deal with every mechanic from the first 2 phases and all of the boss’ abilities, except they won’t encase themselves in stone anymore.

Both bosses will need to be stacked and burned down together. If they do not die at the same time, the surviving general will gain a 200% damage increase and quickly wipe the raid.

          Heroic Difficulty

During Phase 1 for each of the bosses, a Stone Legion Goliath add will periodically spawn throughout the phase to attack the raid. This is the same as the intermission add and will need to be focused down ASAP. The add in this phase does not drop the anima orb and they will spawn 1 at a time until the boss reaches 50%.

Wicked Blade will now also strike any player it passes through and pulse an AoE around the target hit, applying a bleed to anyone around them.

Reverberating Eruption now leaves a Reverberating Vulnerability debuff to anyone who soaks the Unstable Ground zones. This lasts 45 seconds and makes the player unable to soak Unstable Ground until the debuff has expired.

          Mythic Difficulty

General Kaal will now periodically summon a set of 3 Stone Legion Skirmisher adds to assist her or Grashal. The Skirmisher add will periodically strike a random player and apply a Wicked Laceration bleed to them. Whenever a Skirmisher reaches 30% health, they will channel a strong gust of wind to push the entire raid slowly off the platform until they are killed – this gust of wind is stronger the more adds are at 30% health.

Unstable Ground zones dropped by Reverberating Eruption are now permanent. If any soaks are missed, the raid will instantly wipe.

Stone Legion Commando adds will land during the intermission phase and attack the raid. These adds cast an absorb on them and start casting a Detonation spell. To interrupt the detonation, the absorb must be removed by DPSing them down quickly. Any detonation cast will wipe the raid.

Additionally, whenever you give an Anima Orb to Renathal during intermission, it will knock back anyone within 45 yard range of him a great distance away. We will position on the edge of the platform during intermissions to negate this.
