Frost, Arcane, (weakest) Fire / Progression Raiding – Shuralia – Accepted

What sort of membership are you applying for?

  • Progress
  • What characters are you applying with? Please link from armory, wowprogress or some other site, in order of importance to you. Include also your main character if you are applying with an alt.

  • Shuralia - Draenor (Main) (Has gear to play frost arcane and fire) Lynnesa - Draenor (Alt) (MM hunter)

  • First Alt Character Link

  • Why did you choose the class/spec you’re applying with and what kinds of content have you played on it so far? What experience you have playing other specs of your class?

  • I play magebecause I love the classand enjoy playing all 3 specs (though I need practice with fire and arcane), I have cleared Antorus on HC (Alliance Mage with same name on silvermoon), HC Uldir , HC BoD and + champions mythic and have seen grong M quite a few times with my current guild, HC CoS (raidleaded CoS HC pug). I have the most experience with frost since it's the most versatile spec but can play arcane on demand (gathered 3 equipose and have knowledge of rotation and played it on ULD HC) as well, I am still weak at fire when compared to my other specs at the moment but I know how the rotation works with and without BM traits (I do have 2 WF pieces, played it on jaina HC and have been practicing). On my alt (MM hunter) I have played just enough to get all 3 tower challenge appearance weapons back in legoin and cleared some bosses of BoD normal (9/9) and HC (7/9)
  • Tell us about your history in WoW. Previous realms, guilds, best achievements, favourite mounts and anything else you want to add.

  • Played from early vanilla until mid cata on Ysondre (fr) but got disgusted by gearscore requirements locking me out of content completely because I was fairly casual and took a break from wow until antorus released where I started playing again with a brand new account (gave my old one away to a relative) and played until a bit before BFA release where irl issues kept me from the game until mid december 2018 where I came back to the game. Since then I have been in a guild called Reminiscence of which I can almost only say positive things about the people in it, they are amazing and really good friends but I have decided to move on to push more progress and see higher level of content (I have quite a few of them on battlenet so it's not like I will never play with them again) .
  • Who are you outside WoW? Please make sure to include things like the name your friends call you, your age, where do you live, what do you do when not playing WoW, family situation and anything else you’d like to add here that would affect your ability to play with Weekend Warriors in the coming months.

  • I am a frenchman named Luis, I am a 25 years old University student in a finance major who would have an easier time playing on weekends due to my university schedule during the week. The only thing that would keep me from joining raids during weekends would be if I have multiple difficult midterms/finals the following week in which case I can tell a week beforehand if I can make it or not to the raids or some real life emergency since my grandparents are getting old.
  • How did you hear about Weekend Warriors? What are you expecting from us? What can you offer to us?

  • I was looking through WoWprogress for guilds that were progressing on mythic BoD that could accommodate someone that has trouble playing during the week that were recruiting mages. My main expectation is a place where I can make friendships in game and progress without sacrificing my studies. I hope to at least bring timewarp and arcane intellect to the raids and guild but I will try to bring a bit more than that through my love of analyzing fights and looking at ways to kill bosses as well as my (questionable) french sense of humour.
  • What kind of computer, internet connection and ingame latency/framerate you have? (please provide links if possible).

  • My current setup is a laptop that I am in the process of replacing with a proper self built desktop soon ( sub 12 fps in raids depending on its mood >< but is not usually handicapping enough that I cannot play or raid), my latency is at 120-130 ms (landlord does not want to improve internet connection so I'm stuck with an old dsl for now -.- but it's not too bad and does not affect my gameplay that much) .
  • The following questions are provided by our members and used by us as a maturity/sense of humour check. Please read them carefully and try to give your answer some thought as your answers will give us the best guide to your 'fit' with our community.

If you were an orc, what would you be and why?

  • A blood elf because I would rather look good in a transmog while disappointing the only true warchief Garrosh Hellscream for serving Sylvanas
  • Whats the perfect time of day and why?

  • the evening because I can relax and drink some beer while listening to some music
  • Please name one thing you LIKE most about WoW and one thing you particularly DISLIKE and why.

  • I love PVE the most (raiding and M+ ) for its challenges and I don't dislike anything in particular besides pugs and random stutters after a patch.

Hi Luis and thanks for the application. What happens now is we put a link to this app in the member's section so members can discuss it and bring any questions they have to you. Normally expect an answer on a raid team application within 72 hours. Please check back from time to time in case there are any questions that need answering as this will help speed the process. Thanks. Scabb

Hello again and a question regarding your plans to replace your laptop. Can you gives us a more precise indication of when you are getting the desktop? As things stand the low fps is a concern, we're in the final stretch of the raid with some very difficult personal responsibility mechanics and raiding at 12 fps won't cut it I'm afraid. Please let us know if the change is imminent or more a "one day when I can afford it" type scenario.

I see and that's understandable which is why I was fully honest with that matter. I will have it replaced by July at the earliest and early august at the latest with 100% certainty. If that is too late I would love to keep in touch and re-apply once I have my computer sorted out if there is still a spot open by then. (I am also fine with joining as flex and re apply for progress once I have my new computer so you can have a feel as to whether or not I would be a fit or not for the guild in the first place.)

Thanks for the honest reply. We'd be quite happy to get you in as flex and allow you a trial with the main team when we're farming and act as a back-up for when we're short. Of course, you might end up being well above average on avoidance of mechanics and so the fps issue is manageable, but there is only one way to find out. If you seem to manage competitively we can convert you to full progress or you can try out again once you have a new PC. I know from experience with others that moving to a new PC from a sluggish one can totally transform a player. Would this be acceptable to you?
