      LADY ASHVANE

The first and the heaviest gear check encounter in the Eternal Palace until Za’qul. The boss dishes out predictable, very high raid-wide damage in short bursts, and requires use of every DPS and Defensive CD to overcome.

The enrage timer is tight, but Enrage will not kill you as if you ever reach a 3rd Hardened Carapace phase, the boss will have too much health for you to ever whittle away in time.

As with any DPS check fight, we must maximize DPS as much as possible, as such the composition for this fight will be 3 Tanks, 3 Healers and 14 DPS.

The boss consists of 2 Phases which repeat themselves through the entire fight, which revolve around her Hardened Carapace ability.

      • Hardened Carapace: Ashvane starts the fight with an absorption shield equal to 30% of her max hp. She takes no damage while the shield is active, instead her Carapace absorbs all the damage. Once the shield is broken, Phase 2 will begin and Ashvane will take damage as normal. The Carapace will regrow 150% stronger once Ashvane hits 100 Energy, approx. 1 minute after breaking.
      • Upsurge: In both phases, blue swirlies will periodically spawn on the ground and knock you up into the air if hit. Avoid them and bait them away from Ashvane.
      • Briny Bubble: Ashvane will periodically trap 3 players (1 on the active tank guaranteed) into a Briny Bubble. Any magic immunity cast before will avoid you becoming trapped and you must save them for this incase you are chosen. Warriors can cast Berserker Rage before or after the debuff expires. Stack the bubbles ontop of eachother as close to Ashvane as possible REGARDLESS of if you are immuning it or not.

      PHASE 1

At the start of the encounter, Ashvane spawns 3 Coral Growths in a random pattern around the room. The boss must be positioned by the active tank as far away from the Coral Growths throughout the entire fight to best handle the Rippling Wave ability.

      • Coral Growth: Large void zones that spawn from grey swirlies. Avoid them and do not stand in the area between the boss and the corals to avoid Rippling Wave.
        • Rippling Wave: Ashvane stomps the ground and spawns a Rippling Wave for each Coral Growth present. The Rippling Wave bubbles will slowly travel towards Ashvane. If they hit Ashvane, her Hardened Carapace (NOT HER HP!) will be replenished by 10% for each bubble and deal moderate raid-wide damage. It will be the job of the 3rd Tank to solo soak as many of these bubbles as possible ALONE while all other players avoid them and heal through the raid-wide damage.
        • Empowered Rippling Wave: On Mythic, the furthest Coral Growth will spawn a larger bubble (3 bubbles in 1) that will move at the same speed towards Ashvane.
        • Waterlogged: Soaking the bubbles on Mythic applies a PERMANENT ticking dot on the soaking player. This cannot be removed by any immunity, and cannot be removed by death. Hence, the 3rd tank strat.

      PHASE 2

Once her Hardened Carapace is broken, Phase 2 will begin and Ashvane will take full damage. Coral Growths and Rippling Waves will stop spawning in this phase to give you a breather, but Briny Bubble will continue to occur.

The goal of this phase is to burn Ashvane down as much as possible while destroying as many Corals as you can to make the next Phase 1 as simple as possible.

      • Arcing Azerite: The ability you will need to use to break the Coral Growths. Regardless of the difficulty, 3 pairs of players (6 people in total – 1 on the active tank guaranteed) will be chosen and marked with a sigil about their head. You must find your partner with the same sigil and place as many corals between you two as you can – once the debuff ends, a beam will shoot between you two and shatter every Coral in its path, and also damage any players in its path.
        • Regenerative Coral: On Mythic, each Coral that is shattered will spawn 3 blue zones on the ground around it that will need to be soaked by 1 Player each. If a zone is not soaked, it will spawn another Coral Growth and the landing point.

The Ranged must spread out around each Coral and be prepared to soak the zones that will spawn from them. The goal is to destroy as many as possible while also preventing any new ones from spawning.

If you succeed in managing the raid-wide damage of the Waves, breaking all the Coral Growths and not allowing Ashvane to regrow her Carapace a 3rd time, you will have finally seen the Lady of the Ashvane Company breathe her last.

In addition, here is a very good and comprehensive analysis on the Mythic Ashvane fight. Make sure you check it out to get an in-depth idea of how to approach the fight, as Stankie only just scratches the surface.

Thanks to Rhad for finding and providing the link to this video. The explanation starts at 15hrs and 53mins and ends at 16hrs and 10minutes.
